We are in desperate need of names! Those that were on our mailing list have redeployed back to the States. Remember we do NOT expect you to make a donation for submitting a name. All we ask for is that you have permission from the individual whose name you are submitting. Many of them are in elite units and are not to give their address’ out to anyone other than immediately family.
We do mail to all branches of the Armed Forces including National Guards and Reserves.
Girls Scout cookies are on the way!! We’ve already received some cases no doubt we’ll be showered with many more later in May.
We continue to receive much-needed monetary support and appreciate everyone’s continuous support. Without your support our endeavors would not be possible. Without you then who, without our Military then who? We need to work together!

Yes it’s getting cold in Afghanistan already and we are here to help! We’ve sent 50 pair of wool socks, numerous blankets, pillows and pillow cases along with hand and foot warmers.
One of the individuals River Bend Troop Support is honored to support lost their MWR (recreation center). And we were here to help them by sending a microwave, coffee pot, pancake mix and much more.
Christmas is around the corner! By the end of the month River Bend Troop Support will be sending out Christmas trees and all the trimmings. The second week of December our Christmas wrapped boxes will be sent. Yes we actually wrap gifts and pack them with many thoughts and prayers.
We are very low on names, there is no charge to add a name. River Bend Troop Support would be honored to add your loved one or friend.
Happy Marine Corp. birthday on November 10th to all our Marines and Happy Veteran’s Day to all Veterans on November 11th.
As we approach the Holiday Season don’t forget our men and women serving our country in harm’s way. River Bend Troop Support would also like to say thank you to their families for the sacrifices they have given up for us.

Just like here in Iowa it’s starting to get cold in Afghanistan. Our local rural country Church made some beautiful fleece blankets and some pillow cases. We will be sending them along with some winter undergarments, hand and foot warmers.
This little rural Church has been so supportive of River Bend Troop Support. They have been giving us support every month since we started in 2006. Their continuous support is greatly appreciated.
It seems hard to be thinking about Christmas boxes in September. We are starting to prepare for them.

It’s been a busy summer already. We’re really working hard on getting all the Girl Scout cookies mailed, only have 48 cases out of 600 cases left to mail.
Our local bank Maquoketa State Bank held a Grilling for Charites and chose River Bend Troop Support for their Charity. What an awesome job they did, ran out of food several times, went and got more and final decided to stop serving at 1:30. They raised $2,275.00, their hard work and efforts are greatly appreciated.
We have received several new names but could use some more. There is no cost to submit an address, do make sure you have permission from the individual who’s name you are submitting.
River Bend Troop Support will once again be at the Jackson County Fair from July 25-29th be sure and stop by. We’ll be inside Pearson Memorial Hall.

For those of you that are local don’t forget to attend the Texas Hold’Em tournament and Las Vegas night being held at the Eagles by the Maquoketa Lions. Some of the proceeds will be donated to River Bend Troop Support so come on out and have some fun. There will also be a silent auction good fun and fun. Sign up is at 5:30 P.M. game time begins at 6:30 P.M.
